Trump Told He’s Not Welcome And Met With Massive Protests In Ireland

Donald Trump held a few brief meetings and gave a speech full of his usual rambling incoherence in Ireland before getting to the real point of his trip, which was a taxpayer-funded weekend to watch golf.

Trump came to Ireland apparently to claim that his unpopular midterm convention was packed.

Trump was about his call with MBS and Saudi Arabia, but he detoured into his convention:

Well, I had my call with MBS. He’s a good friend of mine, and, uh, it’s gonna– I can just say everything’s gonna work out fine and dandy. It’s gonna be very good..I think it’s gonna– it’s all working out fine. Uh, I would say shortly after… We had a great convention. We went to, uh, Dallas, Texas. We had a midterm convention.

It was never done by either party, and it’s probably gonna become a staple. It was- Wow. It was so successful, so beautiful, and the arenas were packed, uh, both days, and frankly, nobody expected to ever see anything like it. It felt– I think it actually felt better than the so-called original conventions.

It was as good as it could get. And, and, and the Republicans had a good time. We had a good time. A lot of great people running for office, and they’re sane people. Uh, you know, we’re running, we’re running against some major insanity. But we don’t have to get into that, but major insanity. But we had a, a tremendous… That was a tremendous two-day period.

The convention was a failure, but what really matters is that Trump had a good time.

The people of Ireland also were having a good time, as they strongly came out to protest Trump’s arrival in their country.

Mass protests were organized in Dublin, where the crowd chanted, “Donald Trump’s not welcome here.”

The Irish people also had plenty to say about why they didn’t want Trump in their country.
