At least two people are dead following a shooting at 345 Park Avenue in Manhattan on Monday.

The Fire Department of New York said it received a call about a shooting at the Midtown building around 6:30 p.m. The office building houses the offices of the National Football League and the Blackstone Group.

New York Post reporter Dorian Gieger was on the scene and shared a statement from an unnamed witness.

“This guy came in with an assault rifle and started shooting. I was in the lobby at work,” they said.

Surveillance camera footage shared with CNN showed the shooter, tentatively identified as a 27-year-old from Las Vegas, walking toward the building carrying a large rifle. That photo spread quickly on social media.

At least two people were shot in the incident, one of them a New York Police Department officer. The officer and the gunman are both dead, per reports.

New York politicians were quick to share concerns and condolences on social media.

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., said she was “praying for our first responders and everyone at the scene.”

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., said he was “deeply disturbed” by the news.

“May God watch over our city during this challenging moment,” he shared.

This is a developing story.
