I will be the first to tell you that Donald J. Trump is a truly dangerous, evil, egotistical, narcissistic maniac. But underneath all of that is a tiny, petulant, pathetic little boy who just wants people to love him and admire him and think he’s super important.
And now that this country has outright proven just how much it hates him, that pathetic little man-child is beginning to bleed through.
Despite the fact that Americans are starving, we can’t afford gas, and we’re quite literally at WAR, much of Trump’s focus throughout his second presidential term so far has been his bizarre and completely useless little pet projects — including his ballroom and helipad, his Rose Garden, The Kennedy Center, the Reflecting Pool, and now the Oval Office itself.
Whatever hopes and dreams and fantasies Donald Trump may or may not have had about a third presidential term just went swirling down the toilet Tuesday night, as he effectively lost every ounce of control he had over the legislative branch of the US government. Now that he knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that his days inside the Oval Office are numbered, he seems to have already turned his attention toward turning that Oval Office into a shrine to himself and his tacky, gold-plated decor.
Effective today, the president signed a proclamation that he claims will prevent any of his successors from making any changes to the Oval Office and Cabinet rooms that he has redesigned over the last two years to serve as a diet version of Mar-a-Lago.
Speaking to reporters from the Oval Office, the president said, “People, every time they walk through those doors, they want to just examine it, look at it. You could never do that. You couldn’t build a space that would have that kind of importance.”
He then went on to announce that he is “going to be declaring it a national monument.”
“We’re going to send it over to Congress to have it ratified,” he said. “It will not be allowed to be touched by anybody, destroyed, ripped down by stupid people in order to build something in a slightly different shape.”
He then suggested that a future president could, for example, decide, “Let’s not have an oval anymore, let’s make it square.”
Former President Obama recently pointed out that Donald Trump has a flair for design that’s akin to The Cheesecake Factory, and it seems the big guy wants to keep it that way.
Trump is declaring the Oval Office a national monument 🙄
