Desperation oozes from MAGA Republicans as they try to advance any lie to defend Dear Leader.
With the chances that Republicans remain in control of the House dwindling as the 2026 midterm elections approach, Rep. Rich McCormick blamed skyrocketing gas prices on Pres. Obama from 18 years ago to defend Trump’s horrific Iran war that led to the massive increase in today’s world fuel supply.
Now that’s doing a deep dive to find something to lie about.
Rep. McCormick lied and told Newsmax this morning that “Gas prices are artificially inflated, but that’s going to be temporary.”
Temporary means a month or two. We’re seven months in and there is no end in sight to Trump’s war. Trump has downplayed the price increases as smaller than he had imagined.
Republicans understand, even if they won’t dare say it, that fuel costs are strangling their communities because of Trump.
McCormick really hit the lie meter with the next lie.
MCCORMICK: Get the truth out there.
Realize that there was a huge growth and permanent elevation in gas prices during the Obama administration, which was planned. He talked about that.
We want to bring gas prices down.
We will bring gas prices down.
But we’ve got to deal with a very real and serious threat to America, one that is growing nuclear arms and ballistic missiles.
Can you imagine the outrage from Republicans if a Democratic president blamed a former Republican president for his own problems, using an out of context statement he made 18 years ago? Factcheck debunked the entire episode from 2008, but Republicans lie and lie often.
Outside of cult members, no person in the US is blaming Obama.
