Donald Trump showed up at the Presidents Cup in suburban Chicago, IL and if people were expecting him to present the trophy and hang out, they were mistaken, because the president had other plans.
Just like at Ground Zero on the 25th anniversary of 9/11, Donald Trump requested time to deliver a speech before play started.

U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to do more than just make an appearance at the Presidents Cup on Sunday. Hand out the trophy as he did in 2017? Possibly. But Trump has bigger plans. According to multiple sources, Golfweek has learned that Trump requested to speak at the first tee for 15 minutes before the start of play.
Giving Trump fifteen minutes may have delayed the tournament for hours, because Trump is not known for his ability to form coherant thoughts, stay on topic, or stick to a time limit.
There was nothing to fear, because the PGA would not say anything beyond that they were preparing for a presidential visit.
It turns out that Trump didn’t get 15 minutes.
