MAGA’s Election-Rigging Fantasy Just Got A Wink From Trump Himself

Crackpot Real America’s Voice host Wayne Allyn Root told Trump to declare a national security emergency for the 2026 elections so that he can force through all of the draconian SAVE Act provisions on the public in an effort to steal the midterms.

Frustrated that the Senate can’t pass the horrific and untenable SAVE Act, Root has ideas, no matter how unfounded they are.

ROOT: Because it’s so hard to get the Senate to do anything, now they’re on recess, they don’t get anything done if they never get the Save America Act done.

You have the right to declare a national security emergency for elections.

And the Supreme Court ruled in 1983, under Reagan, that INS versus Chadha, that if you declare a national security emergency as the President of the United States, they can’t challenge it.

It can only be overturned by a two-thirds vote of both houses of Congress.

So if you do this in the next month, we will get photo ID, proof of citizenship, and a limit to mail-in ballots, and you don’t even need the SEPTA.

TRUMP: Let me just say the stranger things have happened.

Okay, I’ll leave it at that.

All right, we’ll leave it at that.

Trump does have the right to declare national emergencies. Still, if Congress has not already enacted a statute giving the President these particular powers, Trump cannot manufacture that authority simply by declaring an election “national emergency.”

How would Trump get photo ID, proof of citizenship, and a limit to mail-in ballots instituted in time for the midterms?

Root is wrong about his claims on Chadha too:

Chadha = Congress can’t use an unconstitutional shortcut to cancel executive action.

It does NOT mean:

“Presidential emergency declarations can’t be challenged by courts.”

And it certainly doesn’t mean:

“Declaring an emergency gives Trump powers Congress never gave him.”

Republicans and their pundits understand the possible shellacking they may take during the 2026 midterms, so they are throwing sh*t against the wall.
