“What’s up, nerds?”: Poehler, Fey reunite on Bondi-mocking “SNL” cold open
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Amy Poehler returned to “Saturday Night Live” this weekend, opening the show with a take on Attorney General Pam Bondi‘s combative Senate hearing.

As Bondi, Poehler quipped that her name was spelled “with an I because I ain’t gonna answer any of your questions.” Poehler’s Bondi spent the faux-hearing insulting the sketch show’s cast of senators and dodging questions about the case files of Jeffrey Epstein.

“I’m not even going to dignify that question with a lie,” she said when asked directly about Donald Trump‘s relationship with the late criminal.

The sketch closed with a surprise appearance of Poehler’s fellow “SNL” veteran, Tina Fey. In the guise of Kristi Noem, Fey strolled onto the Studio 8H stage carrying a rifle.

“I’m the rarest type of person in Washington, D.C.: a brunette that Donald Trump listens to,” the former head writer quipped.

Fey’s Noem cracks focused on the grisly story of shooting a dog that the former governor and current Department of Homeland Security head included in her memoir. “Dogs don’t get shot,” she told the horrified senators. “Heroes shoot them.”

Fey’s Noem went on to tout her ICE recruitment campaign. She joked that she expanded the ranks of ICE agents by advertising to men who take gas station supplements.

“Do you like to use zip ties because people in your life don’t trust you with keys?” she said. “Then, buckle up and slap on some Oakleys, big boy. Welcome to ICE.”
