Tori Amos’ return targets lizard demons

Tori Amos is returning to the front lines. Her 18th studio album, “In Times of Dragons,” out in April 2026 via Universal’s Fontana label, takes aim at what she describes as the “current abhorrent non accidental burning down of democracy in real time by the ‘Dictator believing Lizard Demons’ in their usurpation of America.” The release will kick off the artist’s largest U.K. and European tour in a decade.

A press release describes the new record as a “powerful journey of resilience and awakening, where the pursuit of freedom meets forces that seek to control and silence.” It’s a clear nod to the Trump administration, which Amos has long criticized. “We’re looking at an administration whereby there seems to be almost a gender apartheid happening, and where misogyny is common practice,” she told The Guardian in 2024. Her previous album, “Ocean to Ocean,” was written during the final days of Trump’s first administration and in the wake of the Capitol riot.

Earlier this year, Amos released her debut children’s book, “Tori and the Muses,” and a companion soundtrack. Amos’ tour will span 17 countries in April and May 2026. Pre-sale tickets will be available to fans who pre-order the album in the UK and Europe before Tuesday, October 7.
